A recent purchase – SAGQ007

I got this Brightz Phoenix diver a couple of weeks ago as my last purchase of the year. This watch has some similarities with the new 7s36 diver (SKZ325K) but I actually got it a few weeks before the SKZ325K hit the market.

Before I post a review, here’s a quick un-boxing post.

I got this watch with the help of Big Time and was shipped to Big Time via EMS. This is what I saw on the day I went to collect it.

A carton box full of JDM watches from Japan and my watch is the one with the biggest box.

Here it is, the Brightz Phoenix 200m diver powered by the 8L35 movement.

Here’s a side-by-side shot with the SBDX001 that I purchased in 2003.

Last but not least, a comparison shot with the SKZ325K.

      Hi Khairil,

      This is a Japan domestic model. I’m not sure if it is available in Malaysia. If there are shops that sell Japan domestic models, you can request them to bring it in. That is how I got mine.

      Hi TomGo,

      This watch has the Tsunami logo instead of the Phoenic logo on its caseback. I guess it’s because it is a 200m diver.

    -of what material is the bezel of the SAGQ007 made?
    -would you please measure the diameter of the bezel?

    I want to buy a SKZ325K, can you tell me a dealer in SING?

      Hi Joe,

      The bezel of the SAGQ007 is probably stainless steel with TiCn coating. Diameter of bezel is 41mm.

      Are you referring to online dealers? I’m not sure which dealer carry this watch. Guess you have to wait a while for the SG ebay sellers to get their stocks.

      Both are equally nice.

      Differences:
      1. 8L35 / 7S36 movement
      2. Flat Sapphire / Curved Hardlex crystal

      The Brightz diver follows the case design used in the Phoenix line whereas the SKZ325 has the Marinemaster type of case design. The bezels look similar but the SKZ325 one has a more glossy surfaces whereas the Brightz bezel has more brushed finish surfaces and hence less glossy in appearance. The Brightz has a bigger crown that provides better grip. Both watches have red minute hands but the one on the Brightz stands out really well whereas the one on the SKZ does not (refer to comparison pic above).
