A brand new Seiko 200m diver is launched

Today is an exciting day. Everyone on our local forum is going gaga over a new Seiko 200m diver that was launched in the Asian market recently.

Here are some pictures taken by a watch collector in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (link to his blog is at the bottom of this post).

I will post my pictures if I can get my hands on one.

Thks for all your excellent news. This blog has become the best place to see actual photos of new Japanese watches. Congrats on the SAGQ007

The crystal seems to jut out from the bezel quite a bit. Will this make it prone to scratches? Doubt if its sapphire crystal as Seiko doesn’t use this for their divers

The crystal is curved and the highest point it goes slightly above the bezel. Seiko uses hardlex crystal on this watch but they do put Sapphire crystals on other divers such as the SBDX011, SAGQ007 etc. I believe some limited edition 7S based divers are also equipped with Sapphire crystals (SKZ201, 205).

OMG…I CAN NOT WAIT for this one. It looks beautiful…especially for affordable collectors like me who can’t afford a full blown MM.

Thanks for posting…can’t wait to see more pics. You do know now that you have promised all of us you’ll post your own pics….don’t let us down! 🙂

    Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the heads up! When I saw the picture of the side profile, I thought this new watch uses the same case as the Sumo. But I saw a comparison picture on WUS and it is slightly smaller.

According to the post, the model number is: SKZ327
