Passed by Hing’s Watch and Pen Centre last Friday and was introduced to two new Seiko 5 Sports models that were released in the Singapore market recently.
For those living in the other parts of the world, let me take this opportunity to update you.
The first model (shown above) reminds me of the 6159-7001. It has gold accents on its dial, hands and bezel. When looking at the watch itself, I didn’t really notice the gold accents. However, they became obvious when I saw this picture through my cellphone. This watch could be an alternative (or temporary fix) for those who can’t locate an actual 6159 or a SBDX003 but want to have a watch with gold accents.
It is available in several colour variants including this black one below.
Here’s the next model. There is something about this watch that makes it different from the other Seiko 5 Sports model. Do you notice it?
The special thing about this model is, it does not have a rotating bezel unlike most Seiko 5 Sport model.
Below is another variant of this model on bracelet.
Check out the side profile. Not exactly the same but the Seiko Ananta comes to mind when I saw this.
Here’s the caseback. Both models are powered by the 7S36 movement.

Hi Yeoman
I wonder where and how can I purchase a Seiko SNZH57K1 model….I would pay by CC.
Greetings from the bigger Zurich aerea.
Stipe
Please see if you can find it on ebay. Make sure to choose a reputable seller.
Hi Thomas (Yeoman),
I have had only now, the chance to read your blog and posts.
I am a great fan of Seiko. It is one of the companies that I keep a look out for, and I have countless favorite Seiko products. Great posts, and great info!!!
I am not sure if I have met you before.
You may have already toured the Seiko studios and workshops, like myself..the Swiss and German ones. Please drop me a email if you have the time. I will be going up to Seiko Japan next week for a visit…and hope to meet you.
Best,
Bernard
Hi Dr. Bernard,
Thanks for stopping by. We have not met before but I know you are one of the biggest watch collector in Singapore.
Great to hear that you are going to Seiko Japan for a visit. You are much more fortunate than me.
Looking forward to read your field report.
Best regards,
Thomas
Hi Yeoman,
The new Seiko 5 models look nice. I wonder if you can get the model number for the watch with the side profile like the Ananta (the model without rotating bezel) – with rubber strap ? Maybe Hing’s Watch can help …?
Thanks. Best regards,
Marcus
Hi Marcus,
I will try and find out for you. Will update once I have the model#.
Best regards,
Thomas
Hi Marcus,
The model without the rotating bezel is SNZH69K.
Thomas
Thomas,
Thanks for the model #. I have just seen the ‘diver’ models at retail outlets, and they are nicer..more dressy and expensive looking Diver styled Seikos.(glossy look and all), but solid.
Thanks for highlighting these in your blog.
Marcus
You are welcome, Marcus.
I was curious what the bezel material is on the dive watch style watch. It looks like it is something different but hard to tell from the pictures. Any info would be great!
Hi Joel,
There is a layer of glossy material above the bezel insert. Unfortunately, I do not know what material it is.
By the way, I managed to borrow this watch (gold index variant) and will post some close up pictures of it this weekend.
Best regards,
Thomas
hi thomas,
can’t wait for your pictures! 🙂
what kind of glas does this watch have? it looks like it is very domed?!
and maybe you could also post some technical data like diameter, etc.
thanks.
sanahorst
Hi Sanahorst,
The glass is slightly domed and I believe it is hardlex crystal. I will put up a post with pictures and info as soon as I can.
Best regards,
Thomas

hi TomGo,
where did you buy this nice watch? how much did it cost and what’s the diameter?
thanks,
sanahorst
Hi Sanahorst,
TomGo is from Hong Kong but he is currently living in Singapore. I suppose he got it from either Hong Kong or Singapore.
Best regards,
Thomas
Hi Sanahorst,
Sorry for the late reply. I’ve got it in Singapore at King Wah
Where to buy? Regards
These two are very new models. Most online sellers do not have them yet. Give it a few more weeks.
Best regards,
Thomas
Hi Yeoman,
Thanks for the update. I had a chance to handle all SNZH variants and also found the gold accent and the all black most attractive. Finally, I picked the black one. Compare with enamel black bezel, The watch looks more metallic grey than black.
Hi TomGo,
Yes, those two are the most attractive. Congrats on your purchase.
Best regards,
Thomas
